Learning Objectives

To discuss and describe the aetiology, diagnosis and management of the main medical emergencies of importance to dentists, namely:

Faints
Acute hypoglycaemia
Acute asthma attacks
Acute angina and myocardial infarction
Adrenocortical insufficiency (addisonian crisis)
Acute allergy and anaphylaxis
Epileptic fits

To describe the required equipment, drugs and practical training required to deal with such events.

The presentation will last for approximately 1 hour, followed by an opportunity to ask questions.  Questions may also be submitted in advance.

Valid for 2 hours verifiable CPD. Limited to 25 delegates.
